Hi guys, I miss you :C But I am drawing more (and showering less) lately, so hopefully I will be around the internets more (I know I've said that like every entry for the past year).

Making myself sketch a bunch as warm-up before trying to motor through commissions once and for all, am pretty rusty but it's slowly getting better! Feels good to draw again oh god :'C

Essays done, just dissertation now! Will be tons of work but hopefully not as soul-killing, should be able to keep up drawing while I'm doing it.

Sherlock Holmes trailer. It's obviously not completely loyal (lol and there are so many stupid Guy Ritchie moments in this trailer :[) but I am still psyched. Also haha at all the people talking about Jeremy Brett and how the people who made this movie obviously haven't read the books. I agree Jeremy Brett is AMAZING, but his Holmes is not very loyal to the one in the books either. The books are technically adventure novels like The Lost World series, even if they do involve lots of thinking faces.

Anyway I've been sketching and things, just not gotten around to finishing or scanning any of it; might catch up after I get one more essay finished. Also relevant to this post, I will hopefully be writing my dissertation on Holmes & the Challenger series and Victorian bromance if I can make the books do something useful. :{

Life is pretty good; lectures all over, just have 2 essays and my dissertation before I finish the course. Should be able to focus more on art now that I've got less reading to do, need to sort out commissions. I really have been terrible about them and I feel like a jerk, ugh. :[ Mostly because I haven't been motivated to work at my computer much (hence more sketching lately), but there's really no excuse.

Maybe one day I will make it match the ones on DA.

Uggggh I don't know what I'm doing with these essays, I'm half tempted to just write the one about homosomething in Dickens because that's what the lecturer's focus is and I know I'd get instant points for it. :[ Dickens you have too many characters and your books are too long. I want to do something Great Expectations related but everyone writes about that one ughhhh

I started watching "The Mentalist" finally after avoiding it for I don't know what reason, lksjdflkjsd WAISTCOATS more attractive men on TV need to wear waistcoats, I love this show. It could be a show about paint drying and grass growing as long as there is a man in a waistcoat, sign me up.

I rented Resident Evil: Degeneration, I'm kind of afraid to watch it. :< lol I bet it's terrible. Is it terrible guys has anyone seen it? Oh well I will watch it tonight in the dark.

So I didn't die in England or anything, I am in fact still alive. D8 Back in Colorado for the holidays, will be heading back in about 2 weeks. Have accomplished some things, need to pick up the pace though! Yuuuckkkkk essays. Whose idea was this grad school business, it was a bad one. :<

OH YEAH AND HAPPY NEW YEAR

Heeey guys

Life has been nuts, I have been going out basically every night and driving myself into the ground with good times (I even went to a rave and now my hearing is still messed up :| ugggh). But obviously I can only take so much of that business, and things are settling down now. I haven't even really touched my tablet or sketchbook since I've been here, but that should change soon! I also need to get on track with coursework.

Anyway, classes are fantastic so far, people are fantastic, Leicester is fantastic. :] Getting my hair chopped off in about an hour - I was trying to manage it long here, but it's just a lost cause, haha.

I'm enjoying the comments where everyone is bitching and moaning about how they're ruining the characters. Honestly the old vanilla movies ruined the characters and made Holmes boring/old and Watson a complete tool. :[ I want some pistol-whipping bitchez

p.p.s. I am still alive and having good times! Except now I actually have assignments so I need to have slightly less good times, haha.

I am in Leicester and alive. D: lol I had an epic freak out when I got to my hotel room but I'm 99.99% sure that was about growing up and getting the fuck out of my parents house fo realz this time, hahaha. Man I am too old for that crap.

Anyway 3rd day, first night in my actual residence and it's great - still need to figure out the best stores to go to location-wise (and adjust to not even having a bathroom on my floor, lol :| annnnd sharing what bathrooms there are with 25 other students) but I'm settling in pretty well!

It's still a bit ???? unreal but I'm excited to start classes and all that so that I feel more anchored; I'll be living in a really lovely part of the city, so I really lucked out on that! If I stick to the right roads I can avoid the unlovely areas altogether I think, haha. 8D

p.s. I am watching the British vs. US economies as if they are in a horse race, it is kind of sad. GO US DOLLAR GOGOGO

Today was my last day at work 8DDDDDD YESSSSSSS

Heard back on the sketch cards, and all 50 were approved! Now that DA is back up, here's links: set 1, set 2, set 3, set 4.

Anyway, some of this I said on the comment of the first set over there, but - that was a fantastic experience! I had a great time, even though it would have been better if I'd had more time. I learned a ton from doing them, which of course means the first ones I did are particularly :[ to me now, but oh well. As I said at DA, my biggest regret is just that I couldn't do more with them. I really really REALLY wanted to do full color, but most of my markers are dry and I didn't have the money for new ones, and honestly I wouldn't have had time for it. I hope one day I get the chance to do something similar, and get to go all-out on them!

On that note, I should be getting some artist proof cards eventually (10 or so). I'm hoping to rally up some extra cash for markers by then, so that I can really do those justice. I'll probably keep a couple for myself, but I will definitely 'auction' the others off. I'll post news on those on DA and here when I've got it.

On the marker note, does anyone know of any good place to order Copics - or if it's really that worth it to dish out the extra $$ for them? I've always used Prismacolor in the past, but I've just heard so many fantastic things about the Copic sketch markers. :<

As for un-art things, my last week at B&N is next week, can't wait for that. I have a shit-ton of reading to catch up on before I get to school plus a paper to write, and uh yeah I move to England in 3 weeks. 8|!!! How did that come up so quickly, sldfkjasdlf.

So like I have a huge crush on Tarzan's dad in the Disney movie :< you only see him for like 3 cumulative seconds but man is he muttonchoplicious or what
